The Skogskyrkogården is a cemetery located in Stockholm, Sweden. Gunnar Asplund and Sigurd Lewerentz, two young architects, created it in 1917. In 1915 there was a competition, for the design of a cemetery in Enskede, Sweden. Rather than altering the land they were using, they used the beautiful landscape to their advantage. This naturally gorgeous land provided them with a perfect place to build their cemetery. Each year, about 3,000 burial services are held at the Skogskyrkogården. The Skogskyrkogården welcomes a diverse community of people. It provides different sections for various religions such as Muslim, Orthodox, Bahai, Mandean, Jewish, and Catholic.
